This hurricane was accompanied by strong tornado activity that took warning forecasters by surprise. The case begins with a general review of tornadoes associated with tropical cyclones, and concludes with a very short exercise concentrating on the unusual tornado event that accompanied Michelle using radar, satellite, surface, and model data.
