The National SOO/STRC Coordinator maintains a real-time and historical
archive of operational NAM and GFS Model runs in GRIB and BUFR format. The purpose for this archive
is to provide a data source for running the WRF EMS model in case
study model; however, these data may be used for other purposes
as well.
The archive began in April 2000. There is a running 31-day archive
of all operational NAM and GFS runs available in real-time on the SOO/STRC http server in the data directory. Earlier data may be
obtained by placing a request with your SOO/STRC Coordinator.
BUFR data sets include:
* (New): 3-hourly GFS files for all four cycles
* 1-hourly NAM files for all four cycles
Modsnd is already configured to automatically access the SOO/STRC system for files.
GRIB data sets include:
* (New): 0 to 84 hour full resolution (0.5 degree) global GFS files for all four cycles
* (New): 0 to 84 hour full resolution (12km 218grid) NAM files for all four cycles
* 0 to 84 hour NAM files for all four cycles on 40km 212grid
* : 0 to 48 hour full resolution 12km tiles NAM files for all four cycles
* (New): Hourly NDFD sensible weather and precipitation grids
* (New): 6-Hourly Snow analyses
* (New): Daily high resolution 1/12 degree global Sea Surface Temperature (SST)
Notice: GRIB and BUFR files are also archived to DVD for retrieval upon request. If you need files that are no longer server just contact me.
