List,
I'm running an NMM version of the WRF model (latest version -
V3.2.1.5.34.beta) and am producing bufkit files. As far as I can tell
from the logs the files are being produced properly (I'm not getting any
errors), but I'm unable to view them in Bufkit (also latest version,
V11) w/o it crashing. Bufkit throws a "Run-time error 380: Invalid
Property Value" error, then exits. I've tried to load the soundings from
the Archive menu, but get the same error. In my Bufkit.cfg file, I have
the nmm model listed as follows:
NMM eta
For what it's worth, I haven't had any problems viewing ARW based Bufkit
files using the same version of the WRF and using the same version of
Bufkit.
I opened an ARW bufkit file in Notepad and compared it to an NMM version
at the same site. Two things stood out:
_*ARW file:*_
STID = KPHX STNM = 722780 TIME = 120202/1800
SLAT = 33.43 SLON = -112.02 SELV = 341.0

SHOW = 12.97 LIFT = 13.85 SWET = 102.47 KINX = -11.50
LCLP = 726.25 PWAT = 6.15 TOTL = 30.21 CAPE = 0.00
LCLT = 264.50 CINS = 0.00 EQLV = -9999.00 LFCT = -9999.00

_*NMM file:

*_The station elevation is drastically different in each file. Also, the
lowest pressure level is drastically different. Both versions of the
model are using identical bufr_stations_dWd.txt files, so I'm unsure why
there is such a difference.
Anyone have any insight or has anyone seen anything similar?
Thanks!
